Ingredients:
- 1 pound calamari, cleaned and cut into rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- Alexandra's Pikliz Spicy Pepper Relish
- Lemon wedges
- Tartar sauce
- French fries (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the calamari: In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the calamari: Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, then dip them in the beaten egg.
- Fry the calamari: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add the coated calamari rings and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove the calamari from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with Alexandra's Pikliz Spicy pepper Relish, lemon wedges, tartar sauce, and optional French fries.
